Just as an “argument from ignorance” ( i dont have a 3d printer yet) has anyone tried adapting the bearings from an old HDD? And it seems to me that overrun could be conquered with some kind of drag adjustment like on a fishing reel. (There you go… How about using an old Zebco bait cast reel as a hub? They spin smooth and have a decent drag adjustment)
